Embark on a captivating journey through nature's symphony of flight and song with Anthony Zemba, a Certified Ecologist and Sr. Environmental Analyst for LandTech, as your guide.
Join us Saturday, May 4th for an Essential Backcountry Navigation Skills class with licensed wilderness guide, Chris Varian. The class will cover selecting, reading, and navigating with topographic maps, understanding how map information relates back to physical terrain, using a compass to plot and follow a route, and basic route planning and backcountry movement.
An awe walk helps us tap into the power of presence and of the universal. The focus on self diminishes, and the vast outer domain is allowed to enter. We notice both large and small remarkable things, dive into curiosity and wonder, and shift our perspective.
Join us and our friends from Trout Unlimited as we spend the day fly fishing at Stonebridge Preserve. Learn about the local estuaries, the ecosystem, where some fish like to “hide out” and some of the best tips and tricks with some of the best people in the area!

ALT is always seeking additional training opportunities for volunteers to increase their capabilities and enhance safety when working on the trails. To that end, we are are again offering a 2-day chainsaw training workshop called Game of Logging (Levels 1 & 2) for interested individuals.
Hello! Spring is here and it's time to think about pruning at the patch. Blueberry pruning is one of our favorite things to do at the Land Trust. We look forward to seeing old friends, meeting new folks, and basking in the amazing beauty of the Trout Brook Valley orchard.
Join us March 16th for a “Little Legs & Wildlife” kids walk. Using all of our senses let’s explore wildlife. This youth focused program is led by Ranger Jim. He will be leading families through our Violet trail (Trout Brook Valley) from 10:00 to about noon, highlighting the beautiful local ecology around us and all the wonders nature hides in plain sight. Meet at the Bradley Road entrance to Trout Brook Valley Preserve and we will be using all of our senses to look for signs of wildlife.
Learn how to design a native plant garden with trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants and Anna Fialkoff will make sure to include some info about native plant guilds as well as hedges and hedgerows.

The Northeast Bird Habitat Conservation Initiative Mapping Tool is an easy-to-use, interactive tool designed to help Regional Conservation Partnerships, Land Trusts, and practitioners use bird data to support activities such as habitat management and stewardship plan development, land prioritization and acquisition, and landowner and community engagement, all through the lens of bird conservation.

You’re invited to join us for a special evening of art and nature! Grab a bite to eat at the Housatonic Museum of Art’s reception and enjoy a guided tour of Hidden Gems from the Housatonic Museum of Art from 5pm - 6pm. Then we’ll head out on a walking expedition throughout downtown Bridgeport, where the Aspetuck Land Trust will point out native and invasive species and the Colorful Bridgeport team will highlight the many murals and public art installations throughout the neighborhood. You’ll see the natural world through new eyes while experiencing the beautiful murals in the urban landscape. This walking tour will last from 6pm - 7pm, where we’ll wrap up our tour and head to the Bridgeport Art Trail weekend kick-off party at Read’s Artspace.
