Sara:
We used to hike a lot — for hours! — when we lived out West. And then we had Avery. We’d take him on very short hikes, during which he would complain and my husband and I would be annoyed that we could never go as long or as far. Recently we figured out that we would all enjoy the experience more if we went at his pace and stop often to look at bugs or throw rocks in the water. And if we don’t go very far, that’s okay. We’re spending time together, exploring the outside world, and learning something along the way.
