Joseph Pescatore
Join us for a two-hour birding walk at the Trout Brook Valley Preserve in Easton on September 19, from 8am to 10am. Beginning at the blueberry patch, we’ll make our way through the orchard and nearby woodlands in search of fall migrants, including warblers, vireos, hawks, and sparrows. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and cameras, as we hope to enjoy plenty of opportunities for both close observation and photography along the way. The hike will be led by ALT member Joseph Pescatore with the help of two notable local birders.

Following his career as an investment banker on Wall Street, Joseph retired in 2015 and began to seriously pursue his lifelong interest in birding. He purchased his first “good” pair of binoculars, and set out to list what birds he saw. Soon after, he discovered he had a passion for photography and wanted to document all he observed through the lens. Since then, he has received numerous awards for his photographs of birds from various Audubon groups and from National Geographic. His photographs appear in books, bird guides, web sites and calendars. He is a Life member of New Jersey Audubon and active with Florida's Pelican Island Audubon, where he leads field trips in search of rare and hard-to-find species. In pursuit of his interests, he has traveled all over the world and has amassed an extensive gallery of well over 1000 species of birds. Joseph is a New Jersey native who raised his family in Bernardsville and spent summers in Lavallette. He now lives in Vero Beach, Florida and Westport, Connecticut.
