Sixty years from now, children will walk beneath mature forest canopies, hear pollinators at work, and watch herons rise from protected shorelands. Building Green Corridors will safeguard not only land, but a way of life.

In 2020, a bold vision became reality. Through extraordinary generosity and shared purpose, 460 acres were permanently protected, creating the first Green Corridor in Fairfield County.
Now we are ready to build on that momentum, creating Green Corridors across the region.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Aspetuck Land Trust will:
Strive to protect 1,000 additional acres before they are lost to development
Connect landscapes through green corridors
Strengthen partnerships with land trusts across the region
Expand public access to nature and regional trails
Bring the benefits of conservation to every community
Goal: 1,000 more acres preserved forever
Within the color-shaded watershed corridors we have already identified 116 properties totaling over 2,900 acres of high priority farms, forests, and shorelands, and with our partners, we are just getting started building the pipeline to conserve 1,000 acres across Fairfield County.
Priority lands will:
Link large protected areas through wildlife corridors
Protect rare habitats and species
Safeguard wetlands, rivers, drinking water, and farmland soils
Strengthen climate resilience
Provide meaningful public access to nature
