Wednesday, June 14th
Brew Lab Presentation: Walking the Pacific Coast Trail with Anne O'Regan
In 2010 Anne ORegan left her home in Boston and traveled west to make a trek that fewer than 300 people accomplish each year. Starting in Campo, California, on the Mexican border, she backpacked north for 2,650 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Traveling through California, Oregon, and Washington, she completed her hike five months later in Manning Park, Canada. Join us as Anne shares tales from the trail, and offers a unique visual presentation gleaned from over 3,000 photographs taken along the way.
Time: 7:30pm - 9:00PM rain or shine.

Saturday, June 17th (rain date June 18)
Tails, Trails and Tales with Milan Bull and Jason Hofmann

Tails, Trails & Tales is a hike and conversation focused on finding a sustainable balance for off-leash dog walking and environmental protection on conserved land. The event is led by the trio of conservation biologist Milan Bull, his dog Edge and noted dog trainer Jason Hoffman. Bull, the Connecticut Audubon Societys senior director of science and conservation, together with Hoffman, owner of 203 Pet Care, discuss what dogs sense on a hike in the woods, what biologists observe, how seemingly small events can have very significant environment consequences, and the best strategies for having a good time with your dog while hiking Aspetuck Land Trust preserves. At the request of hike leaders (to avoid chaos), do not bring your dog to this demonstration and education event.

Where: Stonebridge Preserve, Weston, CT
Location & Parking: 388-398 Newtown Turnpike (Route 53) just south of the junction with Norfield Road, on the Wilton/Weston border.  Parking is in the fenced area on the west side of the Turnpike.

Shore Birds with Tina Green
Bring your binoculars to this exciting event hosted by Tina Green, bird expert! She will lead the discussion while you view the abundant birds such as osprey, shorebirds, ducks, and more in the beautiful Ash Creek area. Learn about the different species as well as the conservation importance of this natural salt marsh. This event will consist of easily manageable terrain for the whole family!

Aspetuck Land Trust Annual Meeting
Join fellow Land Trust members on Saturday, June 24th from 10:30am to noon in the beautiful Trout Brook Valley orchard for the Land Trusts annual meeting. A short business meeting will precede a walk through the orchard with its stunning views and there will be something fun for the children too! Members will be asked to approve a slate of directors, class of 2021, which consists of: Dick Ritzel (At-Large), Ross Ogden (Easton), Nancy Moon (Fairfield), Tom Johnson (Weston), Heather Williams (Westport), and Jacquie Littlejohn (At-Large). Refreshments will be available. Bring your family and a blanket to sit on. There will be bathroom facilities.
Time: approx. 10:30am - 12:00pm
Where: Trout Brook Valley Orchard, Easton, CT
Location & Parking: From intersection of Merritt Parkway and Rte 58 (Hi Ho Motor Inn), go north on Rte 58. Pass thru light at Rte 136, continuing on 58. Pass Bluebird Gas Station and Restaurant on left. After Bluebird take third left (Redding Rd and Norton Rd are 1st two) onto Freeborn Road (sign at end of road) which is a couple of miles from Bluebird. Go left onto Freeborn. There will be woods on the left and right. When the woods stop on left (first house lot) look to right, there will be a dirt road thru the woods. Go up the dirt road, pass thru an 8 ft farm gate into the orchard field. Drive across the field on road about 300 yards, you will see a second farm gate on left. Go thru this gate and park.

This class is not only about taking better nature photos, but about using your camera to help strengthen your connection to and appreciation of nature. Steve White is an award
-winning photographer who views the camera as a tool for building our relationship with nature as much as it is an instrument of creativity. In this class, he will share his tips and insights as you explore

Butterflies with Lepidopterist Victor DeMasi at Randalls Farm
Join local Lepidopeterist Victor DeMasi, research associate at Peabody Museum of Natural History, on this walk through this outstanding open meadow to observe butterflies and learn about their ecology and conservation.
Time: 10:00am - 12:00 noon
Where: Randalls Farm Preserve
Location & Parking: 700 Sport Hill Road, Easton, CT; Preserve is located one mile north of Silvermans Farm on Sport Hill Rd (Rt. 59) in Easton. Small parking lot is located in preserve off Sport Hill Road. For additional parking, take Adams Rd to Kellers Farm Rd and park at the cul-de-sac

Geology and Natural History hike with Norwalk Community College Anthropology Professor Ernie Wiegand through the Jump Hill Preserve.
Time: 9:00am 12:00 noon
Where: Jump Hill Preserve, Easton, CT
Location & Parking: (1034 Black Rock Turnpike, Easton, CT 06612) Follow Black Rock Turnpike (Rt 58) 6.8 miles north of Merritt Pkwy, Parking at Jump Hill is directly off Black Rock Turnpike opposite Country Club Lane.

Scott Kruitbosch, Odonata, and Other Flying Objects
Join Scott Kruitbosch, bird expert from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, as he discusses birds and odonatan, an order of carnivorous insects, encompassing dragonflies and damselflies. The uncommon Tiger Spiketail dragonfly, a threatened species in CT, has been sighted in Trout Brook Valley. The terrain on this walk through the conservation area will be easily manageable.
